When viewing the Properties of a Page, the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tab allows you to specify additional info about a page that will can be used by search engines. This includes:
- Title - Very useful including keywords of what the page content is used for ranking and often shown as the title of a search result as shown below. This will be added in conjunction with your Site title from your Site Settings as specified in the order on the Site Settings SEO tab.
- Description - Summary of what the page is about, often not used for ranking but shown as the description of a page as shown below. It is recommended to keep this description under 200 characters.
- Keywords - Typically not used by search engines, read more about this on the SEO page. It is recommended that this is a list of 10 or less words separated by commas.
- Include in Sitemap - A Sitemap is very effective in telling search engines what content to crawl. If you want certain pages not to show up in search results such as hidden pages or private client pages, be sure to uncheck this box.
By default the description and keyword will be used from your Site Settings SEO but you can specify individual settings per page.
Click on the View HTML button to change the Stage view to seeing your website in plain HTML. This is how the search engines see your site and also browsers that do not have Adobe Flash Player such as the iPhone.
