Using the Layer Menu
The Layer Menu is a floating box that is visible when you select a single layer. This is a handy tool to get you used to the basic tools for a layer. You can hide this menu if it gets in the way by clicking on the "View" menu and then "Hide Layer Menu" or by pressing "ctrl + shift + L".
The first four buttons bring out the Properties panel and select a tab:
- Layout allows you to adjust the position, sizing, rotation and other properties of the layer
- Link allows you to specify the layer as a button
- Effect allows you to adjust the opacity and add effects to the layers
- Advanced allows you to adjust advanced properties for things like Text and Widgets
The next four buttons allow you to take actions on the layer:
- Bring the Layer forward in the visibility position like a deck of cards
- Send the Layer backward in the visibility position like a deck of cards
- Duplicate the Layer so there are two exact copies with the new one moved down and right a little bit and selected
- Delete removes the Layer from the Page or Style Group
