Direct Host
From Showit Manual
Direct Hosting for your domain name is an option for a Showit subscriber (paying user) that allows the simplest method to get your website up and running.
Before setting up hosting, be sure to Publish your site so that it is ready and live and will be active when the DNS changes take effect
Have Showit Support Configure Direct Hosting
Once you Subscribe to a Showit, we include domain setup FREE to you at no additional charge. To get this started and have Showit setup your domain, click on the menu for Site and then Domain Setup and step through the following wizard:
- Choose that you have a domain and enter your domain name.
- Let us know what your current setup is to help our support guys as they make the switch
- Choose to have the Showit Support Team configure the DNS settings by selecting the option I want Showit to configure my domain
- Once you select this, enter your information for where you registered your Domain Name so that they can adjust the settings
- Submit the request and then a member of the Showit Support Team will go into your registrar account and configure your site to go live. This can take up to 48 hours to complete and you will be notified by email or phone when it is complete.
- You can also choose to have our team set you up with Email through a Google Apps account and they will let you know when that is complete
Manually Configure Direct Hosting
If you prefer not to give your registrar info to Showit and would prefer to manually configure direct hosting, you can do the following steps when you click on the menu for Site and then Domain Setup:
- Choose that you have a domain and enter your domain name.
- Enter the info about your current setup
- Choose I will configure my DNS to point to Showit
- Be sure to click Next and then Submit so that your Domain Name will be saved on our server to route to your site
Once you complete the setup in Showit, the next step is going to be for you to configure your DNS settings to point to the Showit hosting server. Please refer to the Configure Domain section for more information on how to do this.
